Synopsis
宫廷叛乱，当朝天子遁入空门，全景式展示明朝两代帝王阴谋与情仇，功高震主，救时宰相暴尸荒野，大手笔揭密于谦残酷被害千古之悬疑。 公元1368年，朱元璋统一中国。历经数代长达八十余年的励精图治，天下太平，边疆一统，至明英宗皇帝登基期间大明王朝进入鼎盛时期…… 英宗正统年间，太监王振把持朝政，诛灭异己，逼迫“垂帘听政”的孙太后还政于英宗，并陷害忠良，使奸计将兵部侍郎于谦打入死牢，直至朝纲不振，社会腐败之风日盛。 蒙古瓦剌军侍机大举入侵，边关军情危急，英宗在王振的怂恿下御驾亲征，困于“土木堡”，五十万大军土崩瓦解，满朝文武百官死于战场，英宗被瓦剌军生擒…… 危难中，孙太后下旨免去于谦死罪，回朝主持危局。于谦力挽狂澜，为对付瓦剌挟天子攻城掠地的毒计，不顾后患，立英宗同父异母的弟弟成王朱祁钰为帝，并亲自上前线指挥作战，以智谋大败瓦剌军，迎回英宗，然而，一场明争暗斗的皇位之争又在景帝与英宗之间展开…… 一心想重振大明的于谦，铁心整肃朝纲，力推新政，追查私钱，铲除腐败，结果遭到权贵们的极力反对，一挫再挫…… 及至景泰七年，石亨等奸党密谋迎复上皇，一出“夺门之变”上演，英宗复位，景帝被害至死，于谦也被贯以“莫须有”的罪名再次下狱……
