Synopsis
本剧时间跨度从隋朝末年一直延续到贞观二十三年。隋朝末年，晋阳留守李渊（周绍栋 饰）掌握重要兵权，他的三个儿子——李建成（王伯昭 饰）、李世民（林俊贤 饰）、李元吉（玉尚 饰）都是得力战将。一次意外使李世民与出云公主杨吉儿（傅艺伟 饰）一见钟情，并且结识了一个陌生少年（李志奇 饰）两人还结拜成兄弟。但是不久后吉儿为解突厥围攻雁门之困，决定前往突厥和亲。世民为救吉儿力挫突厥大军，但是却误以为吉儿身亡，伤心回城。当吉儿死里逃生回到晋阳城时却得知了世民与长孙无垢（童爱玲 饰）的婚礼，好在两人化解了误会终于结合在一起。不料李渊起兵进攻长安之时，吉儿被元吉软禁又与世民分离。经过千辛万苦的她还是生下了儿子李恪。随后世民发动玄武门之变登上帝位，吉儿被封为杨妃，与长孙皇后和睦相处。贞观十年，长孙皇后病逝，世民与吉儿因为太子之事产生误解。回顾李世民金戈铁马数十载，在他寿终正寝之时谁会是陪在他身边之人？
