Synopsis
旧上海二十年代初。 孤女周莘瑜本是普通的英文教师，但一次"意外"的轮船爆炸事件夺去了其未婚夫的生命。莘瑜悲痛难抑！原来这一切都是上海滩大亨洪日升所为，他本想以此来打击对手赵世龙，却因此殃及诸多无辜。莘瑜毅然召开记者招待会，想借此为惨死的未婚夫讨回公道。幕后黑手胡司令害怕事情败露，暗中指使洪日升除掉莘瑜。没曾想洪日升不但放走了莘瑜，还在不知不觉间爱上了这个弱女子。这一切被赵世龙当作了把柄，他想利用莘瑜将洪日升置于死地。这时，莘瑜遇到了孤身闯荡上海滩的章杰，他正是爆炸案的见证人！千头万绪的案情、扑朔迷离的感情将几位当事人紧紧地纠缠在一起……
